2、 根据所输送的电缆大小，用手摇把向逆时针方向松动松紧丝杆，使橡胶履带松开到位，以便放入所需输送的电缆。　
3、 电缆输送机使用前需全面检查各部件的连接螺栓螺母是否松动，若松动需紧固，并检查开式齿轮上的润滑油脂是 否润滑到位，并及时补涂油脂，查看托轮升降情况，并且将电缆输送机调整好后固定整机，然后空载运转电缆输送机五分钟，以便检查整机工作情况。　
4、 单机使用　电缆输送机需要固定于地面，调整好托轮高度，然后松开橡胶履带，将电缆放入橡胶履带之内，用扳手顺时针转动松紧丝杆夹住电缆，启动电机，电缆输送机便可以输送作业。　
5、 串联使用　因大截面电缆重量重，单机使用很难满足施工要求，这时需在牵引机配合下，进行多台电缆输送机串联使用。
